Prof. S.G. Kiama provides Academic leadership in the execution of the wPOWER Hub Project program workplan, coordinate research, curriculum development and training, and integration of the Program activities within the core functions of the institute in order to ensure sustainability, coordinate the compilation of the best practices in the clean energy technologies from the wPOWER partners countries. Wanjira Mathai, wPOWER Hub Project Director, GBM Board Chair & WMI Board Member.
Wanjira Mathai provides overall leadership in the execution of the program workplan and creating close linkages will wPOWER partners. Prior to this she directed International Affairs at the Green Belt Movement (GBM), where she managed International outreach and resource mobilization. For 6 years before joining GBM, Ms. Mathai worked as Sr. Program Officer at the Carter Presidential Center, Atlanta, Georgia (USA), monitoring & evaluating disease eradication programs. Read More
Simon Kiragu – wPOWER Hub Project Officer
As the Project Officer, Simon is responsible for day-to-day project management – executing, monitoring and reviewing the wPOWER Project. His specific responsibilities include: Project Management, Program support and Program reporting.
Simon has worked with the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves-Kenya and as Project officer for Developing Energy Enterprises Project (DEEP) implemented by IT Power Eastern Africa and Global Village Energy Partnership (GVEP-I) and Barefoot Power(Smart Solar Kenya subsidiary) among other various positions in renewable energy organisations within projects funded by EU, DGIS,USAID, World Bank, IFC and DFID.
Simon possesses an MBA in Project Management, first degree in Bsc.Energy Engineering and a diploma in Accounting. In addition, he possesses certification in USAID rules and regulations: grants and cooperative agreements. Simon Kiragu is an Environmental Impact Assessment/ Environmental Audit (EIA/EA) associate expert registered with National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), Kenya.
Tindi Sitati, wPOWER Hub Communications Officer
As the Communications Officer, Ms.Tindi is responsible for production of an interactive learning and communication platform for trainers and clean energy entrepreneurs, production of communications material, management of wPOWER Hub website content, manage relations with media and provide editorial support. Tindi received her Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communications (KIMC), after which she enrolled for her under graduate degree in communications and sociology from the University of Nairobi (UON).
Tindi has worked with Thriive Kenya, a program of International Child Resource Institute-Africa, where she organized the 2013 ‘SME Opportunity Forum’ in Kenya. She has also worked with various production media houses in Kenya.
